The National Audit Office has published a new report on insulation installation failures under the ECO scheme. Our Chief Executive Adam Scorer says work should be completed to a 'high standard'. And 'good quality, effective insulation remains vital to tackling fuel poverty.'

Insulation and ventilation, when done properly, are among the safest and most effective ways to bring down energy bills and keep people warm

But sub-standard delivery and weak oversight by the last Government has turned what should have been a national success story into a cautionary tale.

The Radio Teleswitch service will be switched off from the end of June. If you have an RTS meter, you will need to get this changed. Please urgently contact your supplier to avoid losing access to energy or constantly pay peak rates.

First, there’s this criticism of regulators, “cottage industry of checkers and blockers”…

@theguardian.com seem to have multiple crossed wires here:
- The Future Homes Standard will ban gas boilers in newbuild homes. It has nothing to do with existing homes.
- Labour made it clear before the election that they weren't prepared to set a date to ban new gas boilers in existing homes.

Dutch Senate has now also approved the bill. With this, proposal now becomes law and Dutch municipalities can put an end to the gas network as the final piece of a coordinated heat transition.
Dutch parliament just voted in favour of a legislative amendment allowing municipalities to phase out the gas network (after a heat transition vision has been adopted for a neighbourhood, and with at least eight years lead time). An important tool.

So who should bear the cost? It's such an obvious question that you have to ask why it wasn't asked.

Have we been duped by the primary energy fallacy?

Critics of renewables often say that we cannot possibly replace the vast amount of fossil fuel we currently use with clean energy.

The good news is that we don’t have to. My article in Medium explains why.
