Sixty years ago today I was shown five Little Stints to spark a life-long passion for birding. So it was good of these Black-necked Grebes - the first I think this year - to turn up in front of me at Walthamstow to mark the milestone. Really should have learnt to keep the camera out of the rain

Well it's been very nice being back on Patch this weekend at Walthamstow Wetlands, but today was exceptional! Record counts for both Barwits (c55) and Whimbrels (c12). Amazing sight to see with big flocks of waders flying over. Can't fit everything I want to say on here so ⬇️ #ukbirding
