I hope to learn a little more about the course changes in the coming weeks as reports start to roll out. If there’s anything substantial I’ll make a post that hopefully the #bm100 diehards here will still see

I understand why changes were made. But I miss getting a 3rd day of the excitement and suspense that comes with tracking the Barkley and getting to cheer for runners through loops 4 and 5.
Also the realization that the internet’s best sporting event has been cut short by 33% the last 2 years #bm100

I understand why changes were made. But I miss getting a 3rd day of the excitement and suspense that comes with tracking the Barkley and getting to cheer for runners through loops 4 and 5.

Congrats to Sébastien! With the weather and conditions this year this was an insane performance. Now we wait and hope for a safe return from Damian. #bm100

It’s been 3 hours and 20 minutes since Sèbastein was seen at the fire tower and he is still not back at camp yet. Damian Hall has 3 hours and 10 minutes to get back to camp for a fun run and there has been no word of him reaching the fire tower yet. Seb had daylight too 😬 #BM100

A runner has to begin loop 4 by the 36 hour mark in order to continue. Neither Damian nor Sébastien will finish loop 3 in time to begin loop 4; however, if they complete loop 3 within 40 hours they will be credited with a Fun Run. #BM100

Damian has 4:30 to get back into camp for a fun run. Given the current fog and mud at Frozen Head and the onset of darkness, we should start hoping to hear of him at the fire tower soon for him to have a good chance to make it back in time #BM100

4 runners on loop 3 is the same number as last year. Except this year 3 runners started loop 3 before 24:00 and last year it was zero. In 2024 13 runners started loop 3. #BM100

26:40 into the race the 3 runners still on loop 2 are over the time limit and will be tapped out when they return to camp. The 5 runners still on loop 1 are now also over the time limit for loop 2. The key to success at the Barkley is to go faster than one mile per hour. #BM100

My initial tracking of my guess for the 2026 course is 2 miles longer and 1k ft more elevation per loop than the already brutal 2025. Will have to look a little closer at the extremely limited info I have in the morning because that can’t be right. Especially with more loop 1 finishes. #BM100
