I was proud to strike and protest with my fellow teachers and friends for the National shutdown today (no work, no school, no buying)! For me, teaching at a Catholic school, it is important to actually embody Catholic social teaching. Milwaukee showed up! (1/2)

The Trump supporting Christian nationalists (read Christo-fascists) in the United States: "and who is my neighbor?"

There's a parable about this...

FINISHED GRADING FINALS! Finally can enjoy a three day weekend and get some of my own writing done. I got home and saw some goodies had come in for me. The book on the left was a treat to myself, because, well, the title should say it all. The other I have wanted for some time for my own research.

I came home to a pleasant surprise today. My friend, Hugo Mendez, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at UNC Chapel Hill, kindly sent me a copy of his new book I’ve been looking forward to reading, featuring his fresh take on the Gospel of John and the Johannine literary tradition. (1/2)

Sometimes you have to go hide out and work on your dissertation at one of the many dope little bars in Milwaukee. Makes life better.

So glad Seth came through Dallas to hang for a few days! You already know we had to hit up the flagship Half Price. We found some gems, went and had great coffee at Wayward, dinner at Culinary Dropout, now enjoying jazz at the Balcony Club. A great day in the good ole’ DFDub!

Enjoying a light, fruity, Guatemalan pour-over while writing all day today in one of my favorite shops, Wayward Coffee Co. in the Dallas Design District.

Beatific writing fuel today at my spot. Time to ride that post-SBL wave of inspiration and grind.

The highlight of my SBL is always my PhD supervision meetings with my doktorvater and friend, Matthew Novenson. His brilliance and scholarly acumen are only matched by his kindness and generosity. If you know him, you know why I’m thankful for such a mensch. #aarsbl25

I was much more disciplined this year at SBL and stuck to only purchasing the books on my list. My pocketbook is thanking me right now. These are the elect that made the cut. #aarsbl25

I love the Boston Public Library’s Central Library in the heart of downtown. The motto of the library is “Free to All.” The library is beautiful, I especially love the well known Bates Hall. (1/2)

And so ends another wonderful SBL/AAR! My favorite part of these meetings is the quality time spent with my friends from all around the globe. Pictured here were some of the good times that were had, (1/2)

The Pauline Epistles session today has been a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed my buddy Daniel Glover’s paper, “‘In Tongues of Mortals and Angels’: Tongues and Angelization in 1 Corinthians”… (1/2)
