I quit marathons for a variety of reasons but I keep thinking…. I’ve only been injured once in the six times I’ve trained for a marathon. Even then, I still was able to finish my training.

I’m taking the approach of not being patient after my most recent injury. It’s worked before.

I’m almost 3 weeks into not running after dealing with Achilles tendonitis. It’s almost better but …. I actually haven’t missed running. Cycling and ramping up those miles has been fun. I like just walking.

After spending some time on threads recently I realize it’s mostly fear mongering with politics, and really bad opinions on parenting and running. We’ll never have a good site again like Twitter was in the mid-2010s.

If you have a Garmin or Coros or whatever, you do not need to give your data to a third party app. I learned this back in the DailyMile days. Your watch and associated app with it have all you need.

Once again, my neighborhood Facebook group has broken out into people suggesting walking/running WITH traffic instead of facing traffic. Each example they try to use are terrible spots to try to be walking with the traffic. Also, these streets get like 30 vehicles a day.

I have felt pretty miserable this summer trying to run, but August has turned out not so bad. I’ve run more this month than any of the previous 4 months. And the last time I ran more in August was in 2019.

Went to my first NASCAR race in about 10 years a week ago. Good times with my friend, but my goodness, the action in the track was as boring as TV makes it for short tracks. I’ll go back to be an occasional fan.
