Also we looked to play through high prime spot. High low emerged as an excellent concept for us.

Get Action was an effective action for us this season. Simple yet hard to guard.

After last season we convinced our players we needed to be better defensively. They bought in. Starting with being able to “guard your yard” then understanding how we needed to “gap and contest” everything. Connectedness is defense and defense is connectedness. A couple of clips:

With ball screens we taught the hardest way first and focused on it all year. Go over the screen and flat hedge (not drop). If the kids needed to adapt and adjust then peel off late and switch. Also in these clips our Low is responsible for back cuts.

A closer look at one possession: Stacking actions organically helps us create advantage. Conceptual understanding grew all season long. Solid one cutter at a time unless we were cutting north/south. Goal is to create, find, and use the advantage.

Our goal is to help create gravity players. Ball skilled shooters who can start, stop, & pivot while making great decisions. Part of having gravity is understanding where your spot is & being skilled enough to get to that spot then finish with a go to shot. Half donut fade & paint pull fade.

I love simple inbounds. One quick look for a bucket with the ultimate goal of getting the ball in. Then simply flow into our actions. This is about as simple as it gets. In — Pin down and slip.

Connection precedes commitment. Our girls buy into that every single day and they work on building those connections with our youth players. After our sectional win this was my favorite picture.
