East Coast of England based birder and moth-er. Overdeveloped curiousity a blessing and a curse. Interested in places and why we choose one place over another. Poor sense of direction keeps finding me either lost or sticking to regular haunts.
A drawing I did of a Glossy Ibis using one of my photos of the Stiffkey Norfolk bird. Annoyed that the beak is too long, but I had fun with the reflections. #birdart #birds

This Glossy Ibis I saw at Stiffkey Norfolk this morning could have been a cardboard cut out.

#avocets make great subjects to hone #sketching skills. Just a black pen and a pencil needed. This bird was in Manningtree #essex. Each sketch is based on one of my photos.

Not for me as a vegetarian but part of me is glad there is still a cafe in Clacton advertising chopped liver. That cheesecake looks over the top.

Rescued this Sea Slater on a walk today. It reminded me of when I was a teenager in the late 70s and used an intertidal seaweed festooned WW2 pill box as a bird hide. These slaters would crawl all over my clunky Russian mirror lens. The lens & the pill box are long gone but the slaters persist.

Im addicted to the Netflix high budget Korean cookery game show “Culinary Class Wars”. Refreshingly free of Gregg Wallace. Can you imagine Gregg saying
“This seaweed is like a nurturing mother embracing her trouble making child”

My garden in Coastal Harwich in Essex is a Bloxworth Snout hot spot. I’ve probably got more records (21 records in 4 years) than anyone else in the County. This is my latest ever record and could have been disturbed from hibernation. I don’t know for sure why my garden is so good for this moth.

@markgolley.bsky.social - rightly gives much praise to video editors. I love Max Rushden.

Thanks for all of the help with moth Id over on the other platform. I am right in assuming I’ll post here for your future help.

Merveille du Jour, a minty choc chip favourite moth. Seems to be having a good year but I don’t get many in my Harwich garden.

A big boat approaching Felixstowe this afternoon. 100 turnstones on Stone Pier in and amongst the gulls.

It’s not grey matter. It’s a worse for wear white line in Leicester. The red image is processed from the original image and looks like neurons.
