Jason Adam said there's a chance he will be healthy in time for Opening Day. If not then he expects to be able to pitch early in the season.
November 11, 2025 at 1:31 AM
A.J. Preller: "We've spent a couple 15 hour days with Ruben and Craig talking about how we can be better... (Ruben) is gonna have a big time voice in it. He's gonna continue to get more opportunity not just to help the pitchers."

Sounds like Niebla might get a new job title.

"I hope they see how I treat my family and treat my kids and feel that I'm treating them in a similar manner. Treating them like family."

Wants to push them, but also wants to partner with them to achieve their goals. Hope to challenge his best friends to see them succeed.

Stammen on the idea of pitching again: "The thought of throwing multiple major league pitches right now makes me body hurt. My brain is willing but the body is not."
November 10, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Stammen on Ruben Niebla: "I think it's gonna be great. I have so much respect for Ruben."

Said he saw his process behind the scenes last two years and how he gets the best out of players.

Will rely on Ruben the most, believes he's one of the best coaches in the sport.
November 10, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Stammen says the support of past teammates and coaches made him believe that this was possible. Had to get over the stigma of being a pitcher and a reliever at that.
November 10, 2025 at 6:15 PM
Preller: "I know nationally it may be a little bit of a surprise, anybody that's been around Craig in San Diego... I think it was a pretty easy fit."
November 10, 2025 at 6:09 PM
Preller says the COVID season showed his decision making skills on top of his leadership. Pushed back on ownership in a well thought out manner when necessary. They knew at that point they'd want to keep him around the organization after he retired.
November 10, 2025 at 6:08 PM
A.J. Preller introducing Craig Stammen: "It's been a decade in the making."

Said Craig has a unique lense, was part of the teams that laid the foundation and those who made the playoffs and had success. Has had a front row seat to the disappointments as well.

A brace for Pellegrino.

What a bounce back performance so far for San Diego FC, who could've easily played tight after last weekend's letdown.

The way they've carried themselves from match one on has been so impressive.

Amahl Pellegrino gives SDFC some insurance.

They picked up the 35-year-old in August and he has been enormous for them since the start of October.

Anders Dreyer. Because of course.

MLS Newcomer of the Year continues his absurd season.

Craig Stammen once told us that A.J. Preller would call him a winning 45 on an 80 point scale.

An average talent but a winning player.

They kept him in the organization after he retired and now need him to be a winning manager.
November 6, 2025 at 8:45 PM
Sorta funny that Craig Stammen’s greatest moment as a Padre was starting their Game 3 win over Mike Shildt’s Cardinals in 2020.

A.J. Preller on Ben & Woods didn’t have an update on a contract extension - said the focus has been on finding a manager. He did say he looks forward to being with the club for a long time.

Nice start for the Aztecs, especially after they shook off some early struggles on offense.

Nearly shot 50% from three, forced 21 turnovers, won by 32.

Did so without Gwath and Dixon-Waters.

Elzie Harrington had 13 points in his debut and looks like the real deal.

The Aztecs scored 17 points the first 13 minutes of the first half.

They scored 23 the final 7 minutes, eight from Miles Byrd.

Good to see them find some offensive rhythm after a clunky start.
