GB MK1 plays like GB MK1 which is a mess so that’s accurate. Game Gear MK1 feels PERFECT on inputs and plays exactly how I remember outside of rev. 2 changes. I think some people’s online input latency issues stems from the default setting for latency being a whopping 4 frames.

Discovered a rather interesting thing concerning the “input lag” of the MK Legacy Kollection. I’ve noticed with MK1 and 2 arcade, you can hit a direction and start moving say forward, but immediately hitting back does not immediately make the character go back.

In the original Game Gear release of MK1 trying to do the nut punch on Goro would result in “Error 80” and freeze the game with the error code on screen. The release on the Legacy Kollection is a later revision that fixes this, but as you can see somewhat breaks Goro’s win pose timing.

I’ll likely get the MK Legacy Kollection just so I can have many of these titles all in one place. But I’ll be damned if you’ll EVER see me take the competitive element of the game seriously. I mean this has always been diet Street Fighter and way more busted, no matter how you look at it.
