These ARE NOT my “Ten Best Films of the year”, I defer that to the pictures in that same year of release. For example the “Ten Best Films of 2021” were all released in 2021. These are the best eight films I saw for the FIRST TIME in 2025 and they are all either great and or excellent. Some on this list I’ve been meaning to watch forever. A couple were spare of the moment because they were available to stream and I wanted to watch while they were still available. I saw MORE older films for the first time, but these were the greatest.
