Eventful day! Went to breakfast with Mr. Q, hit up the @texasbookfest.bsky.social, and tried my first tinned fish ever. It wasn't too bad!
We sat in on a great author panel about climate and agriculture - so we got some education in, too. 💚
Oh and? It was BEAUTIFUL weather today. Low to mid 70s.

I honestly don’t get the value of this company. They hoover up energy and water. Their product constantly gets things wrong and, in extreme cases, coaches people into suicide.
And it’s all built on what seems to be malicious and vast intellectual property theft.
What does OpenAI offer the world?

How much do I love this movie? Let me count the ways...
i’ve been seeing a lot of people waking up to the denzel washington in much ado about nothing…
it’s never too late to realize in that movie denzel was on demon time. romance is where the real actors are born. this why johnathan bailey is thriving. he gets this.

Went to IKEA and HomeGoods with the baby girl to get her some stuff for her new pad. She has excellent taste, by the way. 🤩 It was fun. We even ducked into the World Market where the only thing we got was some treats but it was a fun day overall.

I had the most beautiful, exquisite dream last night where I, and a small cohort of random people, traveled to another dimension that was similar to ours but was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and we had special powers there. We stayed in a house atop a giant rock formation with incredible views.

A friend recently texted me the same thing. “Do you really not use ChatGPT?!” It was a sign of where we are culturally on this. People are compelled to use it but also starting to question the normalcy?
Recently met someone who was very surprised to hear I didn’t use ChatGPT or any LLM.
I said my job depended on doing distinctive work. That was my selling point. If I started to sound like ChatGPT and turn out what it did, then how on earth could I justify doing it? What would that make me?

There is a fusion ramen shop with Mexican-Japanese food in a random strip mall INSIDE an Asian market in North Austin. It has a Michelin star.
Get your ass to Ramen del Barrio and thank me later.

GOOD MORNING. It's a great day to buy my debut novel, The Whole Enchilada.
It's got 90's nostalgia, Gen X angst, a life-changing road trip across Texas, and an alien.

Don't mean to brag but I just scored 9 (!!!) books for my e-reader from @haymarketbooks.org and threw in a couple extra bucks to support the cause - for a grand total of $20.

Albert Camus – the second youngest Nobel laureate of all time, born on this day in 1913 – was 46 when he died in a car crash, an unused train ticket to the same destination in his pocket, having lived with three antidotes to the absurdity of life www.themarginalian.org/2017/07/24/a...
Albert Camus on the Three Antidotes to the Absurdity of Life
“In a world whose absurdity appears to be so impenetrable, we simply must reach a greater degree of understanding among men, a greater sincerity.”

I'm on a mission today to find cute black dress boots with about a 2" heel. I'm thinking ankle or mid-calf.
My calves are huge tho, so I always have trouble finding longer boots that fit.
