Please, please I beg you all - if anyone is going to cover archives in the phone hacking scandal, please keep in mind the poor archivists who had to work through the stress of news coverage, evidence collecting and court cases.

Sitting at the table having breakfast with the 4yo this morning and a suspicious smell appears from the area where my son sits. Iasked him if he’d done a fart (kid is rotten on the inside, his farts are lethal!). He happily replies: “No, it was my bum saying happy birthday to you!” 🤣🤣

I once managed to break my arm by not falling off the horse when show jumping. Horse lost balance - I somehow smacked my arm into the saddle to balance myself - arm broke. Had I fallen off I'd very likely have escaped without a bruise!
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

😅

This year’s edition of “knit a scarf for a lovely friend”, the request was “garden themed.” This makes the last scarf for this group of friends, so I shall now expect them to knit me a scarf for me. And I’ll have nothing to knit!

Went on a elf trail hike on the mountain today. The kids were so exited to sit all the elves.

I’m well behind posting #YayAdvent, so here we go!
Day 1 was a roll of sellotape, which would have come in handy for wrapping 2x24 gifts for the boys’ advent calendars…

The 4 year old made this traditional Scandi Christmas decoration at his Danish lesson today. He did brilliantly!

At a new starter induction I was asked what my favourite item in the archive was. Easy, I love the sperm whale tooth. Then they asked how we could justify keeping objects (not documents) which seemed of no particular evidential value of the company's work. I wonder how other archivists would answer?

School: "Kids can use the school post box for Xmas cards for friends. Please make sure they are clearly addressed with the recipients first and last name and class."
Me: "Please tell teachers to include last names on class list."
School: "We can't due to GDPR."
Me: "Don't ask for last names then!"

I have a Danish lesson to teach a bunch of 7-9 year olds on Saturday, and I’m blank on ideas for a theme. Too early for Christmas, we’ve done autumn… anyone got any bright ideas?

One of the kitchen areas in the office has caused a horrid stink. As a result the facilities team have opened the windows (no one knew the windows could open) and we're now all sitting in our coats complaining about the cold rather than the horrid stench! I guess that's sot of "problem solved"?!

4yo son came back from trick or treating this evening and excitedly showed me his most prized treats- two satsumas! According to the au pair the lady offering them alongside sweets said he was the only child who’d picked the fruit as his treat.
