Another gift that has been delivered so art can be revealed. My friend's dogs who are all named after characters from "Doctor Who." Oswin, Strax, Meep, and Alfie!

The holidays have come and gone (hope yours was wonderful) so I can now reveal some drawings that were done as gifts.

First off is Abbie! This lil cutie loves her Holee Roller balls: especially the red one!

In addition to my portrait of the two Australian shepherds, I have this realistic mini on my desk as well. This one is a little exciting because I think it’s the first time I have drawn this breed of dog!! Who wants to guess what breed my current model is?

I’m done with all my holiday drawings so I’m back to sharing progress on the art currently on my desk. Here’s where my portrait of two handsome Australian shepherds stands. Getting those icy blue eyes just perfect is a challenge!!

I recently did a string of fun cartoon portraits. This is the first set. (Waiting to make sure the other 2 have been delivered!)

I feel like I am working in secret this time of year with gifts on my commissions list. But I do at least have some pieces I can share progress on. And a few completed ones I can reveal soon.

Art can be therapy. Sometimes...you just have to get stuff out there to help you cope.

On Saturday morning, I walked out into my driveway to load everything up for an agility trial and my car was gone. Stolen.

Fortunately, my car was found several hours later. Some stuff missing. Can't drive it.

I wanted to have at least one cartoon-style drawing to showcase in my upcoming show (November 4-29th at Maxwell Memorial Library in Camillus, NY) and this is it. I really like how the cheetah turned out. This sort of perspective is really hard to get right!

Doing a remake of a concept I had probably 20+ years ago. Really pushing myself with the extreme foreshortening here.

The awesome feeling when you're done with a piece of art.

Definitely spent WAY more time on the background than I did on the figures. Which is my least favorite part but totally worth it for the results.

Getting close to the end. I could just make a boring dirt path but there’s just so much detail and interest on real life trails through the forest that I wanted to take the time to include it all. Twigs and rocks and dried leaves all adding to the interesting texture. Might as well go big.
