Living in Budapest in 2002-03 helped me to accept who I really was. The bars, the friends I made, the clubs, the drag, the baths, the freedom! I can’t tell you how heart warming it is to see the city rise up and be seen. Orbán is wrong - the protesters represent true humanity! Keep flying that flag!

So, I don’t post on social media much these days, but I’m currently at Philly airport waiting for a flight back to Scotland after a ‘bijou’ but very thoughtful and engaging @ces-europe.bsky.social conference. My thanks to everyone who attended and made it such a success! Thank you!

🙅‍♀️ ‘The UK’s reluctance to engage in a UK-EU youth mobility scheme is not purely a policy decision but a political framing born out of fear that appearing to engage with the EU could undermine hard-won ‘Brexit red lines’

Well this has finally happened. Shameful! Pride at its core is a celebration of identity and a protest against discrimination. Banning pride won’t make queer go away! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Hungary bans LGBT Pride marches sparking protests
The move from Orban's conservative government is the latest in a crackdown on the LGBT community.
