Today, one of my 7th Graders was on autopilot. As I clarified something, the student said, “OK, yeah, love you.”
There was an awkward silence. After a moment I carried on with my wrap up to the class, then pointing at that kids added, “…love you too.”

TOP TIP: When you get a wrong number phishing text messages, play along for a while, then when they push to know your name, location and age, tell them you’re from the area code they’re pretending to call from and that you’re name is a non-gender specific one… and you’re 14. Gets quiet real quick.
