I’m watching Gareth Edwards’s MONSTERS, which I haven’t seen since its release, and I’m sobbing at its climax, at these two damaged people at the end of the world just trying to manage the world they’ve been thrust in to. And I wish we had a better one.

This was the biggest surprise of 2025. It’s as if Tim Burton and Jean-Pierre Jeunet collaborated on a remake of Besson’s Leon The Professional and added a hecty portion of The Babadook, only even more fun and insane than that. An absolute winner.
