5 meshes left of the low poly!

I promise I didnt waste an hour of my life trying to trouble shoot a baking artifact just to discover I accidentally deleted the highpoly out the bake folder 😅

Today is my last shift before Christmas break so hopefully ill have sometime to make a dent in this project

I wouldnt normally take a render halfway through making a lowpoly but wanted to make sure the bake is sitting nice

Did a fun little experiment on the logo of the press

Tried baking with some of the lettering geo intact and then with no lettering geo at all to see if I could save the tris..

The marmo skew tool tried its best to save it but no geo is just a mess... Well worth the 200 tris 😂

Calling the pass on the wood counter done for now will probably tweak once I get to baking it!

Also added some rounded off allen key bolts to really sell its wear and tear 😅

I started a new job trimming/assembling carbon fibre parts for motorsport+hyper/supercars

And it really put into perspective how fucked the #gamedev industry is.. 😭

I am working on cars in the range of £800k-£3 million and what requirements did I need to land the role.. Nothing.

Before I started this project I was really struggling to decide what my next prop would be.
I originally was thinking a Viking/Egyptian relic but whilst researching that I thought maybe a weapon like an axe? then proceeded to look up if many others have made one and found this👀

Made the classic mistake of trying to push through late at night Instead of just trying again in the morning. realised my hubris when I spent like 2 hours squinting at a mesh and I could not for the life of me figure out a pinch😅

A friend once explained using Ngons as "try to make the shape you want using the least amount of loops"

This hinge I just did would have taken me ages a 2 years ago as I would try to find a way to quad the corner and still keep the curvature

now I just delete the loops and let SubD work it out 😎
