Maybe I'm just not cut out to be a teacher, but I don't know what else a native English speaker that doesn't know how to speak/read/write Chinese can do for a job here in Taiwan.
I mean, I'm thinking about opening up my own restaurant but that is my only other idea.

You can't tell me to just ignore the misbehaving students and be in charge of classroom management at the same time. It is one or the other. Not both! I can't do both.

I still think 2 and a half hours is about 30 minutes too long for 6, 7 or 8 year old students to have ESL class.

7 and 8 year old kids are physically incapable of sitting still or being quiet. I don't know how to control them in my classroom.

I honestly feel like I can teach these ESL students academically. It's the behavioral issues that happen everyday in the classroom that I cannot handle.
I need an assistant teacher in my classrooms everyday. Otherwise there is no way I can succeed.

I try to be a nice ESL teacher and allow my students to watch an interesting nature documentary and animals, but half of my class would rather not pay attention and just chat to each other instead of taking this as an opportunity to listen to the English language about an entertaining topic.

I mean I loved pokemon cards as a kid as well so I can understand the appeal but I now see them from the adults point of view as well. I now see them as very distracting and they shouldn't be allowed in schools.
