Prompt #4: VHS

Whoops, this was yesterday’s prompt. We didn’t have a Blockbuster, so a large part of growing up for me was going to the mom & pop video stores on 99¢ Mondays to get a movie and a Nintendo game. There was always something magical about that enormous wall of videotapes.

Dealing with a designer who handed over low res JPGs for reproduction in high quality printing. This is literally something that should have been beaten out of you in Design 101. If you're a designer working in a professional capacity who still does this, you need to find another job.

Let’s be honest, I just did this one for the acronym.

Farting Santa No. 1.

It has been requested that these drawings say “Toot!” instead to reduce the negative influence I have on my niece and nephew, if only minimally. But this is the internet, I can say fart here.

A thing I do now is make doodles on the back of the church envelopes during service to help focus. These sketches are limited to BIC ballpoint multi-pens so I don’t fret about it actually being good. Topics are requests from the kids, which means it’s usually mythical creatures in gastric distress.

For the few months I’ve been here, I’ve been excited to find folks I’ve followed for years are still active, drawing, creating and posting. People I’d thought had moved along. Turns out, it was just some nefarious algorithm no longer showing me their stuff and instead chose to show me internet rot.

With the dust settling, it looks like the majority of people I follow have landed here. While I imagine I will mostly be a lurker, I suppose I should establish some sort of presence so I seem like a real, living, breathing squishy person.
