Software developer and hobby gardener in Germany. I like books, snail mail, birds, sewing, knitting, and running. she/her. I run the Organic Gardening feed from a separate account (@gardening.cyrinne.dev).

Since I post a rather wild mix, I will try to remember to add hash tags for my main topics such as gardening or running.

That way, if you aren't interested in some of these topics, you can long press the hash tag and mute it. ☺️

(Muting hash tags is easier than muting words via the settings.)
Maybe they didn't get a notification for it or they did and it has the wrong name or address on it? Happens all the time here (in Germany), so I do deliver parcels that don't get picked up. 😅

Thank you!

Yay, back to running! I might get lucky tomorrow, too. The weather is finally improving over here.
January 12, 2026 at 8:45 AM
Thanks, you too!

And no, arguing with them certainly won't change their mind. It's hard enough when you have a personal relationship in real life ...

Bluesky's muting and blocking features are keeping me in a nice, sane bubble. I have enough folks with, uh, "creative" takes on reality in real life.

I simply don't need online strangers to tell me that "some say this, some say the opposite" in response to scientific evidence. 🤦‍♀️

Oh no. Hope they'll go away very soon!

Got it, red chicken minus the screaming 😂

Thank you, Betty!

What does "flappy" mean? I tried to find a translation online, but couldn't 😅
January 10, 2026 at 2:40 PM
Trying to see the funny side of it (took me a while to get there), joking about it (making others laugh can reduce stress), knowing that there are other jobs out there one could do, casually looking for new opportunities, knowing that many others orgs out there are just as bad ...

If you can afford to take your time to figure out what you want to do next, I feel like that's a very good thing to do. Good luck! 🍀

Finally, I found the time to read your blog post. "Only" 21 minutes sounds like a great idea.

Wishing you the best of luck!

I asked one of those online tools where you can upload pictures to check (with an actual photo of mine for comparison) and the result was a high likelyhood of AI-generated content. The entire account seems to consist of AI images from what little I can tell.

But very likely an AI-generated aggressive strawberry, isn't it?

Thank you. We're supposed to get more snow today, then a thaw, then frost again, so I guess I'll have to be patient for a bit longer.
January 7, 2026 at 8:21 AM
Thank you, yes, the water is back on.
January 7, 2026 at 8:19 AM
Still waiting for my first run of the year. After snow and ice, we were without running water yesterday morning because a pipe in the street had started to leak. No shower, no run. 🤷‍♀️😂

Picture from yesterday morning - in the afternoon, the snow came back.

Such a pretty view! Thanks for sharing and, um, good night by now?
January 6, 2026 at 6:59 PM
Sounds like a good choice to me! Hope you had a good day after all.
January 6, 2026 at 6:56 PM
I also keep a ten-year journal and a gratitude journal.
January 6, 2026 at 6:55 PM
I have tried bullet journaling and it evolved into a custom thing over time. It combines a calendar, daily to do lists with squares that I get to color in when I complete them, and a brief diary entry in the evening that I write before compiling the next to do list.

Well done! 👏

Ooof. That hurts.

I so wished we had dedicated QA staff in my department. I'm trying to catch as much as I can, but I haven't had any training in QA.
