Pet peeve of mine: non-localized numbers. These annoy me at a very subconscious level, it actually just graduated to conscious level.

Discovered recently, just use the `toLocaleString()` method (developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...) on any number and you're set.

There are too many things I want to build for Listadum, please save me from myself and remind me I should not be building anything, and do marketing instead.

New addition. This banana thing just cracks me up.

Every year, I challenge myself to read 25 books, and although I've succeeded every year since 2019, I'm not sure I'll be able to this year... 18 done, 7 to go.

Can you guess why from my 2024 read list?

Just finished reading « Show your work » by Austin Klein in one sitting. The author talks about artists but the concepts in there are exactly what the #buildinpublic community is or should be. We are all artists anyway. #showyourwork :)

I spent a couple hours yesterday writing content ideas for social posts for Listadum.

I focused on these categories (mostly carousel type posts):
- tops
- yes or no
- fun facts (although sometimes it's just facts)
- it's in the data
- hot takes

I found 88 ideas, time to write now!

At the end of their registration, I ask new users where they heard about Listadum. Interestingly it's becoming more and more diverse, which means my efforts spreading the word are paying.

I launched on Product Hunt today... and the amount of inbound I get on LinkedIn and via email to sell me upvotes is simply disgusting 🤮

Oops! I kind of forgot I scheduled it for today, but Listadum is live on Product Hunt: www.producthunt.com/posts/listadum, check it out and let me know what you think!

I want to connect with people with successful mobile apps who managed to make ads, attribution, and/or web-to-app work at scale in 2024. Are you doing this? Do you know anybody? Please help!

First Stripe dispute 🥲 I'm scared because this user has 3 more renewals after that, are they going to dispute the whole thing? How do you deal with this?

I can’t stand websites that flaunt nothing but 5-star reviews—it just feels fake.

For Listadum, I’m proudly sharing my real 4.75/5 rating based on actual reviews. Let’s be honest, not every review is a 5-star, and that’s okay. Nobody’s perfect, and transparency matters.

Started the day with my servers down, impossible to restart or redeploy them, had to initialize a new VPS and re-deploy everything from scratch, move the domain DNS to the new server... I guess that's the occasional price to pay when managing your own servers.

How is you day going?

I'm thinking of removing free trial and having a money back guarantee policy instead. Let me explain:

Today I'm shipping a new free tool for Listadum: the target audience loves these little vanity metrics and I happen to have A LOT OF DATA for them. Hoping it resonates as a solid lead magnet and gives my SEO a boost. 🤞

I made a Telegram bot for myself to receive simple notifications for certain actions users take:
- someone used the lead magnet
- new accounts
- new subscriptions and renewals (my fave 👌)

Seeing that there is activity on my website is really helping me stay motivated. Do you use something similar?

I registered for the MicroConf Mastermind Program (microconf.com/masterminds), I'm excited to see it start.

Big fan of the concept of Masterminds in general, I tried to start some on my own without success, and I was even considering building a platform to facilitate them but no time for that.

SEO question: how do you link all these landing and content pages you are creating to rank on specific keywords? Do you link all from the home page? What's the right way to do this?

For those who ran a Black Friday sale for their SaaS, how did that go? I definitely got more subscribers than usual without pushing too much (I only emailed all leads in my mailing list and put a banner on the landing page + sidebar of the app), so it's been pretty positive for me!

I always find hitting the "send" button for an email marketing campaign very stressful. It's the idea that your email is going out to thousands of people and you can NOT take it back... reading it 10 times to make sure there is no typo, that the links work, etc.

Out of curiosity, what's a good CTR for a 30s video ad on Instagram and Facebook?

Both Google and ChatGPT seem to say between 0.5% and 1.5%, so should I be happy and double down on an ad that has a 3.1% CTR (assuming conversions are good once on my website)?

Scrappiest thing I could think of to add a Black Friday sale to my product: add a banner in the hero of the landing page and on the pricing page. The next step is to craft an email for my list (~3,000 emails from a lead magnet).

Do you think it can/will work?

Saw that ad format on X and decided to give it a try for my app today.

It's just too easy to produce not to try it:
- a few words printed on a piece of paper
- a pencil
- an iPhone
- 30 seconds of voice generated by ElevenLabs

Let's see if that works!
