My cycling field trip takes me to Utrecht to the world’s largest bike parking facility with around 12,500 spaces, part of ~33,000 spots around the station. Wow you can get lost in here!

Walking on South/Potter/Market St in Bishop’s Stortford never fails to make me think of “before” photos from any number of European towns.

Time for change.
It’s not just about what you remove (cars, noise, dirty air). It’s about what you add (people walking, a lot of bike parking, trees, outdoor dining, and room for kids to play safely). Amsterdam: 1986 and today.

Cycling in Cambridge after dark on the way back to the station, I encountered a wide spectrum of white front lights from non existent to blinding. The roads are shockingly bad and even worse than Bishop’s Stortford which is really saying something.

More cities will follow in time as they realise they are poisoning their citizens
