We conducted a latent class analysis of 1032 surveys from GBMSM in Australia, and found that social support, social engagement with LGBTQ+ people, and LGBTQ+ community involvement was associated with HIV testing and PrEP uptake. Available to read open access: link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Our latest paper showed event-driven PrEP (ED-PrEP) use among GBMSM in Australia increased from 7.6% of PrEP users in 2019 to 27.8% in 2023. Read the full open access short report here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

Event-driven / on-demand (AKA 2-1-1) PrEP use has tripled between 2019-2023 in Australia, with 28% of gay/bi men and other men who have sex with men now using event-driven PrEP in 2023.

Trends in drug use among Australian GBM from 2012-2021. We found an increasing trend in any drug use in the last six months. Frequent party drug use was associated with condomless anal intercourse without PrEP or viral suppression.

Only 7.5% of GBM not on PrEP in our sample in 2021 had 3+ STI tests in the last year, falling short of testing guidelines recommendations. Even in PrEP users, frequent STI testing decreased from 71.7% in 2017 to 58.6% in 2021.
