Watch for the waxing crescent Moon to be near Saturn this evening. Jupiter is still near the Gemini Twins, but rises a little later.

Where have I been and why?
2 months ago I had spine surgery that unfortunately didn't go as planned.
Now in a medical rehab facility for rehab and on antibiotics to deal with other complications.
But the Sun still shines and the winter stars and constellations are doing their thing at night.

Messier 8, Messier 20, and Messier 21 are all located in the constellation Sagittarius.
M8, aka the Lagoon Nebula, is an emission nebula.
M20, aka The Trifid Nebula, is three different types of nebulae: emission, reflection, and dark nebula.
M21, aka NGC 6531, is an open star cluster.
