You’re not being very considerate that they want to listen to music, or they don’t have headphones but want to listen to a voice message from their friend like in this person’s example. You owe them consideration too, it’s not a one way street. Again just carry ear plugs and problem solved!

It’s a public space, there are no rules about who can play music lol ppl play music at beaches, parks, on sidewalks, etc all the time. If you need silence/no music keep earplugs on you. I do and it’s super helpful when I’m overstimulated or don’t enjoy the music at a store 👌🏻

If you don’t wanna hear what the public does in public places maybe you should bring some headphones. Trying to control ppl around you IS rude when you could’ve solved your issue by managing yourself and not bothering a 16yo who didn’t have headphones to use. They called you out validly, go them!
