Over the weekend, a new outbreak of botulism tied to infant formula was announced, with 13 infant illnesses from 10 states. But after a round of mass firings last month, the CDC's Washington, DC office is no more - hobbling this outbreak investigation from the jump.

It is shocking how hard the Trump administration is fighting to keep SNAP participants from receiving their full benefits—38 days into a government shutdown, and especially as we head into the holidays!
The Trump administration moved on Friday to deny swift and full food stamp payments to millions of low-income Americans, as it asked a federal appeals court to halt a judge’s recent order that would preserve those benefits during the shutdown.

The appeal comes one day after a judge sharply attacked the White House for politicizing the anti-hunger program

The Better Food Disclosure Act ostensibly aims to reform the “Generally Recognized as Safe” loophole that allows food companies to self-certify the safety of new food chemicals and introduce them into the food supply.

Unfortunately, the bill actually cements this loophole into law.

At a press conference last month, President Trump, RFK, Jr., and Dr. Oz suggested that Tylenol use during pregnancy causes autism. But last week, Kennedy said there is no 'sufficient' evidence that Tylenol causes autism.

So, what does the science say?
What the science says about Tylenol and autism
Here’s why experts say that acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, is safe and effective for fever and pain during pregnancy.

Invalidating a slate of state laws with a weakened FDA would doom food chemical safety, says CSPI's Sarah Sorscher.

“It would fly in the face of everything that Make America Healthy Again and activists have been fighting for and will be a complete betrayal of those grass-roots advocates.”

Food banks are seen by some as the answer to the current crisis, but they are not designed to handle feeding more than 40 million SNAP participants all at once. Food banks should be the last line of defense—not the only option.

Food banks and pantries are preparing for a surge in demand if federal food aid is paused this weekend from the government shutdown.

Who should we trust: decades of scientific studies, or the food industry? Eating an excess of sodium & saturated fat can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke, but industry would like us and the government to think otherwise. The DGAs must be backed by science. We want an #UncompromisedDGA!

The Trump administration’s overhaul of the nation’s largest food assistance program will cause millions of people to lose benefits, strain state budgets, and pressure the nation’s food supply chain, all while likely hindering the goals of the administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” platform.

Tell the government: fully fund SNAP NOW! 👇👇

At a time of high grocery prices, increased unemployment, and reduced access to SNAP, families cannot afford to lose their full benefits. Families have dealt with enough this year—they shouldn’t also have to worry about how to put food on their table.
Families at risk of losing SNAP benefits in November
The USDA must act immediately to ensure families and children do not lose their SNAP benefits in November.

Students are asking for more plant-based options at school — but school districts face barriers in meeting that demand. Reps. @velazquez.house.gov & @adams.house.gov’s Plant Powered School Meals Pilot Act would change that.

Did you know that, on average, most children consume more saturated fat than is recommended – potentially leading to heart disease?

If saturated fat limits are removed from the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans, that would be especially dangerous.
