If Ken Burns wanted to, he could mention that a young boy from the Carolinas and his brother were in a British POW camp late in the Revolutionary War. Robert Jackson died in camp, but his brother Andrew lived. And later became President of the USA.

They didn't mention Benedict Arnold burning New London, Connecticut to the ground.

John Andre's remains are in Westminster Abbey. It's quite an impressive monument there.

In the nave of Westminster Abbey is the grave and monument to Major John André, executed as a spy by the Americans in 1780.

Important to remember that Benedict Arnold wasn't an unknown nobody. He was a well-known officer in the Colonial army.

I can't believe I didn't think of this joke.
My favorite part is the opening credits where they say the “American Revolution is brought to you by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting”. Does this mean the revolution will be televised? 🧐😂

I've been disappointed with how few people are tweeting along with the Ken Burns American Revolution documentary, compared to his other recent works.

But I'm going to keep doing it tonight, to close out the series.

The American Revolution is full of military heroes. But John Paul Jones is the most like an action hero.

I hope many Americans are watching this.

Pretty sly of Ken Burns to play that tune over the closing credits. It could be “God Save The King” or “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”.

As often happens, as war continues, lofty ideals fade into the background and day-to-day logistics, suffering and coping dominates the minds of all concerned.

The church I used to attend in Portland, Maine, First Parish Church, had an actual cannonball from the British bombardment in a chandelier above the pews.

Ken Burns is wisely reminding us the the Revolution was a war, with bloody combat and misery and wounded, as much or worse as other American wars for which we have photographs and video.

It wasn't a bunch of statues and paintings fighting. They were humans like us.

I'm glad the documentary didn't promote the myth that Ethan Allen said he was taking over Fort Ticonderoga "In the name of the great Jehovah and the Continental Congress". Since he was an atheist and all.

As he always does, Ken Burns shows us the effects of historical events on everyday people overlooked by history.

He reminds us that history is a deep pool and it's a mistake to only look at the surface.
