Today I was ringing up a guy paying in cash. He was fishing around in his wallet for exact change but kept pulling out guitar picks. Eventually he found close-enough change and I gave him a nickel back and said, "I bet the members of the band Nickelback also carry around guitar picks." Got a laugh!

I get so many compliments on my earrings at work that I've started a tally to see which earrings are the fan favorites. It's too soon to share any conclusions but I'm having fun.

Today I rang up a guy who was buying a LOT of birdseed, and his shirt also had a picture of a bird on it. I asked him about it & learned that he feeds the wild birds around his house and they all know and love him now. Incredible.

Not that I'm not already working on two graphic memoir projects at the same time, but if I did one about my experience being a really sad art student during a semester in NYC, would that be interesting? Or does the world have enough stories about being sad in NYC already?
