The emperor drake (Harpactodromeus imperator) is a large monarch drake of the genus Harpactodromeus. It is a muscular yet surprisingly lightweight animal for its size. It inhabits the grasslands, savannas, and shrublands of southern Duoagros. It is usually a diurnal animal, although it is capable of hunting under the cover of darkness when needed. Like the other member of its genus, the emperor drake is easily recognized due to its large crest, which is used primarily in intraspecific display. However, the crest is also filled with blood vessels, which help regulate body temperature. Adult individuals are often marked with facial scars due to face biting with other members of their species. The emperor drake primarily hunts large-bodied herbivores such as red-fronted rumblecorn, stoneback coneflank, kastrodérma, and crescent cerabronts. It usually avoids smaller prey species, such as evertrotters and uric, and rarely, if ever, hunts giant herbivores like thick-tailed bastions. While hunting, emperor drakes will often frighten their prey into fleeing before chasing them to the brink of exhaustion. After that, the emperor drake will close in to subdue its prey. The emperor drake is a monogamous animal, typically having one mate in its entire life. A mated pair of emperor drakes is called a monarchy, and they’ll breed every three to four years at the beginning of the dry season to ensure their young are born at the start of the next wet season. The male digs a large ditch for the female to lay her eggs in. After, the pair will cover the eggs in dirt and foliage for incubation. Females will lay about two to four eggs; in rare cases, five soft, leathery eggs can be laid. Young emperor drakes remain in the care of their parents for about two to three years before they set off on their own. Typical among drakes, the whelps are curious and spend most of their time playing and chasing one another, honing important hunting skills.

A New Age of Reptiles Preview Thread: The Black-Footed Scalytaur.

This 6 ton African notosuchian is a member of the successful and widespread clade Ungulosuchia. Descended from a Simosuchus-like ancestor, members of this mostly herbivorous group can be found across Eurasia and Africa. (1/9)
A bulky notosuchian, a relative of crocodylians, with a long, bulky body and a bulbous tail. It’s rough-textured hide is a mix of green, grey, and cream. Its face has large splotches of yellow and its hands and feet are black. Its head is angled towards the ground, showing off its bulbous nose and a pair of short horns above its small eye. A grid pattern behind it shows its dimension, one square equals one meter, showing it be about six and a half meters long and slightly over two meters tall. A label below it reads “Black-Footed Scalytaur”

Meet the Crested Grant, (Info in alt)
The crested grant (Remipus cristatus) is one of the largest species of grant in Duoagros, characterized by its large size and iconic facial crests, they’re quite often found in small groups waiting near the water’s edge, diving in at the first sign of danger. Like all grants, their large hind feet propel them through the water. Large eyes and whiskers help them find prey within the often murky waters of Duoagros’ Mammoth Marshlands’ region and its surrounding waters. They communicate in a wide range of squawks, squeaks, honks, and screams, half a dozen unique calls have been identified with varying meanings, some greetings and other warning calls for specific predators.

A little late but I’m working on a project of my own, The Geniverse, a sci-fiction/spec evo project following the seeded world of Eden

Emperor Drake (Magnatherius imperator) One of the planet’s largest terrestrial predators, with high endurance and powerful jaws they’re highly capable predators of large armored herbivores. Red-Fronted Rumblecorn (Pycnocephalus magnus) A browsing herbivore with a brightly adorned head used in display and combat. The larger males act as protectors of their heads throwing themselves in danger’s direction to ensure the survival of the rest of their herd. Crescent Cerabront (Tragoudibrontos campyloceratus) One of Duoagros’ largest herbivores, with a nasty temperament and large size few dare hunt them. Thanks to their near meter long crest both males and females produce long lasting songs which can be heard from miles away. (Currently being updated) OUTDATED Map of Eden’s environments

Day 9 of the Geniverse’s spectember, tiny titan

The mighty titans are usually known for their grand sizes, with the largest species being the largest land animals of Eden. However, all are not huge the flamewalker is the smallest of the titans. Living on a small series of volcanic islands these tiny titans are one of the most vibrant animals in Eden. With a genuine lack of predators, they can afford to be rather ornate. The blue crest that adorns their snout is their main form of display towards mates. With males having larger and brighter ones. Aside from their firey scales, flamewalkers get their name from the volcanic islands they roam.

Griffins almost completely died out after *M.rex*, but one last remaining species remains on a remote island off the coast of Titania. The taro-taro is the apex predator of its island home. ruling the island like it’s ancestors ruled the world millions of years ago. Their powerful arms and sharp hooked beaks make quite work of their prey. And if it calls, a nasty kick to the head may do the trick. Taro-taro are rather intelligent animals, research has shown they have remarkable problem solving skills in addition to being able to recognize themselves in a mirror. Something most animals fail at. Giving insight to a much more intelligent relic.

The largest non-Vaguicruranidean, titan, drake on Eden, the jade titan was originally thought to be a true titan, although, with further research and proper genetic analysis, it was found they are a member of the giantopodidae family. Making jade titans closer to animals such as crescent crests and banded thorntails. Despite not being a true titan their sheer size is worthy enough of the name, with the largest individuals weighing up to 20 tons. Due to their gigantic size, they have zero predators in their native range. Being massive has its drawbacks, jade titans forgo living in herds like most of their relatives as food is hard to come by for a herd of massive herbivores.
