🌹I have been asked to read this poem at an upcoming service and I’ve never heard it before. It is a sobering reminder of what truly matters in life - how we spend it, who we spend it with and how we treat others.

Writing a eulogy & delivering it on behalf of the relatives of someone who has passed away is a proper privelidge. Since May this year I have been honoured to do this for 10 families. 🌹

Not having owned a green tie in my life it was necessary to purchase one in preparation for the service of a Hibs supporter in the coming weeks. Thank you to my daughter Rachel who provided the gift voucher!

Script writing is an aspect of ceremony preparation that I find really fulfilling. The time when a celebrant can add context and colour to an individuals life in readiness for delivering a service. ✍🏼

Yesterday it was an honour to lead the service for my Hearts & Diggers comrade Frank Russell.

Rest in peace Frank. You’ll be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing you. ♥️🇱🇻♥️

Another wee afternoon out on the road meeting funeral directors across the city 🤝

Families often like humour to be included in a celebration of their loved one’s life.

Reflecting on humorous stories during a service can help families come to terms with their loss by celebrating the good times they enjoyed.

On Tuesday this week it was my privilege to lead the funeral service of the late Ali Newton at West Lothian Crematorium. A colourful & interesting man sadly missed by his family.

After conducting my first service it was lovely to recieve some feedback from Ali’s brother Graham. 🌹

My darling daughter designed this logo for my social media pages. It’s very like my business card so quite pleased with it. Well done Rachel ♥️💻

SICA is a respected and professional body of working celebrants, who set standards by which all celebrants should be measured.

After 25 years working on my own, running my own business, I was interested in a role that was more people oriented and engaging.

I have completed my training with UKCAPSA and now enter the world of the funeral/wedding celebrant!
