While it will be sad to see them shut down, I hope corporate officers at other companies will take notice as to what can happen when you prioritize profits over people. I’m all for companies being profitable, but please do so in an ethical way and treat your workers well and don’t exploit people.
A browse through the Glassdoor reviews for Joann shows that retail workers were underpaid/overworked. The stores were wildly understaffed.
A lot of companies have chosen this approach to running their business (cough, Target). I'm excited to see businesses go under from bad decisions like this.

Brian and I had fun discussing what we would do if we sold everything, bought an RV, and left our jobs behind. It was a nice discussion and I think we came close to convincing ourselves. Until next time, I’ll stare at the tea towels I embroidered after the knitter camping retreat weekend I went on.
