Videogames are honestly super avant garde if you pretend they're movies and don't know what a videogame is. Imagine a movie that's just a 2 hour long continuous wide shot of chefs running a kitchen under comedically stressful conditions with no plot or editing

Dude imagine if movie studios were releasing remakes of black and white movies that were just shot-for-shot remakes in full color, and the switch to color just completely washed out all the interesting lighting choices from the original black and white filmmaking

Back in the day you would finish a game and it would say something like "see you next time!" and then you wouldn't see that character again for another 20 years. These days they don't say anything like that even though they know they have 20 more Next Times already in production
