A piece that follows the art style trend I've been using lately, focusing on muted colors, heavy lineart and harsh, black shading with a comic-book aesthetic plastered over it, including noise filters and halftones. Soma Cruz, Juste Belmont, Jimbo and Julius Belmont are posed up taking on a hoard of various night creatures from the Castlevania series, including fleamen, skeletons, bitterflies, frozen shades, werewolves, imps, specters and corpse shrooms. Soma wields an RPG, Juste wields a whip and the Belnades Spellbook, Jimbo wields cards and Julius wields a whip, like Juste.

✦ Robo Ky & Venom Halloween!

Felt like drawing my other Guilty Gear favs in some cosplay fits so yeah here's this, too

Venom and Robo Ky from Guilty Gear, more specifically their appearance in Guilty Gear Strive. Much like my other Testament piece, this piece uses a great deal of varied lineweight for a traditional, comic-book-esque look, with harsh black shading on flat colors. There are multiple filters that give the piece a traditional, newspaper or magazine-like feel, such as the subtle halftones, the noise filter and the faded blacks and muted colors, complete with a gradient map to make the palette feel more uniform. The main, detailed piece on the right is Venom dressed as Soma from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow for the GameBoy Advance. Robo Ky is similarly dressed as Mina Hakuba from the same game. I ship the gay man and the dumb robot so I usually depict them as a couple. On the top left is a detailed rendition of Venom dressed as Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts 2. They're very similar in appearance, what with the darker skin shade and white hair, so I felt it was fitting. On the bottom left are dinky little chibis of Robo Ky and Venom dressed as Shadow and Sonic respectively. One thing I enjoy doing with Venom in smaller doodles is covering his entire face with hair and making the singular eye tattoo emote as if it were actually moving. It's a thing most Venom artists do, lmao At the top is Robo Ky dressed as Kazooie and Venom as Banjo from, well, Banjo-Kazooie. Robo Ky is pretending to fly and Venom is kind of just dealing with it. Lastly, the top right is a 1-minute doodle of Venom dressed in a Marvel Venom muscle suit.

Testament, from Guilty Gear (Strive in particular) featured in a piece with many halloween outfits. I tried a simpler style that isn't rendered like my usual painterly stuff, but instead has heavy emphasis on lineart, line weight and harsh, thick shadows. It's still my typical gothic style mixed with the goofy, chibi stuff on the side, as per norm. The overall aesthetic is meant to be like an old worn magazine or newspaper, with emphasis on the halftone and noise textures. I made sure to sharpen the piece afterwards for added effect. Well, I guess I'll spoil all of the outfits here, lmao. Top left is a mini doodle of Testament wearing P's outfit from Lies of P, complete with the little P on their hat. Top middle is Testament in Klonoa's outfit, and then Testament wearing a Hulk muscle suit. On the far, top right is a chibi Testament doodle of them wearing Spark's outfit from Spark the Electric Jester. The big, main piece is Testament wearing Alucard's outfit from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The final reference outfit is Testament wearing a knitted suit based on Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet, complete with a top hat featuring Sackboy posing all happy and shit. And yeah there's also Testament going "RAAA" in a wolf outfit. lol
