Any human on earth can put a carbon cost on these little marvels and not be wrong and not be right. They are in instant and perpetual flux. That is a state of life on earth. The temporal aspects of carbon are external to the singular metric of price.

For a sustainable future, we must look beyond net zero. A circular economy, rooted in the materiality of decisions and longitudinal material management, in cycles. long-term multi generational over horizon ecological balance must be the goal.

Unless this farm can be guaranteed to retain the emissions it has stored in its soils and trees for the rest of eternity it has never ever been (and never will be) "carbon neutral".
