Every social theory undergirding Trumpism has been broken on the steel of Minnesotan resolve. The multiracial community in Minneapolis was supposed to shatter. It did not. It held until Bovino was forced out of the Twin Cities with his long coat between his legs. The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they’re the ones who are alone. In Minnesota, all of the ideological cornerstones of MAGA have been proved false at once. Minnesotans, not the armed thugs of ICE and the Border Patrol, are brave. Minnesotans have shown that their community is socially cohesive—because of its diversity and not in spite of it. Minnesotans have found and loved one another in a world atomized by social media, where empty men have tried to fill their lonely soul with lies about their own inherent superiority. Minnesotans have preserved everything worthwhile about “Western civilization,” while armed brutes try to tear it down by force.

A screenshot of SoundCloud showing that Cosmilk currently has 403 followers I first reached 300 followers on SoundCloud on a separate account back in 2015 (yes I am ancient). Soon after I hit that milestone, I became really burnt out on music and abandoned the alias. About a year later, I began to love creating music again, and started fresh with an alias that would eventually serve as the early stages of what is now the Cosmilk project. I’m not one to care much about minor milestones like this, but this one feels different. I’ve spent a good number of years between 2015 and now wondering if I’d ever “make it back” to where I once was and always felt like I’d been creating in the shadow of what I’d done before, plagued with impostor syndrome throughout it all. I’ve spent the last few years slowly mending a lot of the insecurities I’ve had when it comes to finishing music, creating music with and for others (such as with collabs and remixes), and my general approach to production. Reaching this milestone feels like the final tangible thing to show me that I’ve truly moved past where I once was, and that I can still make great music that resonates with others. I’d say this is the first year I’m going into where I feel that I’m no longer looking back, only looking forwards. To all those who’ve supported me, thank you all so much. I’m excited to show what I’ve been working on. 🩵

The text reads: When I really got back to the grind with producing 6 months ago, one of the biggest things I really hoped to address in my production was putting more of a focus on the drums and the bass in my mixes. It's something I've always struggled with and something I've felt somewhat insecure/inadequate about. Though still not perfect, I feel like this new tune really shows how far I've come in that metric. So satisfying to be able to immediately pick up on that growth. :)
