my august #2025fanartforfanfic is from "Surgeonfish" by Myrddinembreis

this whole fic is law at his best (so, his worst), and i was just floored by this scene that the author describes as "law escapes the oubliette with the power of love and radiation"

13 page one piece fancomic. page 1.

panel 1: a crowd of marines stand in parade rest around a courtyard. robin, nami, bepo, chopper, shachi, penguin, and zoro are lined up and bound against a wall, and the polar tang rests bisected in a building nearby. in the center of the courtyard, law and luffy are kneeling in handcuffs as a marine commander speaks to them. it is important to note that law is incredibly sweaty, with even deeper eye-bags than usual. he looks unwell, because at this point of the fic he is in fact very irradiated due to his own questionable choices. there is a large hole, or oubliette, in front of them. the commander says, "the reality is this, mr. trafalgar: i have your crew, i have your ship, and i have you trussed up like a holiday capon."

panel 2: the commander continues to monologue, but luffy quirks an eyebrow and asks, "what's a 'capon?'" law replies, "he's implying that i'm a castrated rooster."

panel 3: luffy looks really puzzled and a bit irritated now, and he's surrounded by question marks.

panel 4: law clarifies, "he's implying that i don't have balls." luffy looks shocked.

panel 5: luffy's eyes clearly drop to law's groin in curiosity. law grits his teeth and squints at him, fully aware of what luffy is thinking right now.

page 2.

panel 1: luffy leans over law's shoulder to try and get a better look as law half-turns away in what is definitely not embarrassment. "stop it," law says, as luffy starts, "torao..."

panel 2: the commander — who is actually nezumi from arlong park, with his mouse ears and whiskers — has been continuing to monologue indistinctly behind them. he now comes back into view mid-sentence, saying, "i shall produce my lovely lacquer and coat this entire parade ground with it! unless you tell me what i want to know." he holds up a hand which is dripping dark devil fruit lacquer.

panel 3: from his place on his knees, law smirks up at nezumi and says, "fuck you." luffy grins brightly at law, seated smashed up against him.

panel 4: nezumi grabs luffy by the shoulders and starts to ooze lacquer over him. "not enough incentive for you?" he asks. "well, then... i suppose i'll just start with the boy." luffy looks at his shoulder in more annoyance than alarm.

page 3.

panel 1: law glares up at nezumi, conflicted and concerned. from off-screen, nezumi says, "quickly, now, mr. trafalgar."

panel 2: a close-up of luffy's shoulder disappearing into the lacquer. nezumi continues, "tell me what you know about the will of d!"

panel 3: a close-up of law's worried eyes.

panel 4: luffy looks at law, even as he's coated. he's glaring defiantly, telling law with his eyes not to say anything.

page 4.

panel 1: silhouettes of nezumi, luffy, and law. law snaps, "go fuck yourself."

panel 2: nezumi sneers down at him in disappointment. he simply says, "pity."

panel 3: nezumi kicks law in the back, tipping him down toward the hole in front of them. luffy leans forward, yelling but ultimately still chained up.

panel 4: a shot from law's point of view. his legs and chained hands flail upward as he falls. luffy is looking down, panicked, as nezumi leers.

panel 5: law shouts as he continues to fall. his arms and legs are still flailing, but the opening is now much farther away.

i genuinely havent stopped thinking about this interaction since i first read it 😭 but the whole fic is so fun! i love watching them both fumble around and figure out their relationship,,

panel 1: luffy leans over law. they're both naked and presumably in the unused captain's quarters on the sunny. law's hands slide along luffy's back.

panel 2: law's fingers trace over luffy's spine, going lower.

panel 3: luffy is still perched over law, who looks flushed and a bit overwhelmed. his hands have settled around luffy's waist.

panel 4: luffy leans down, his eyes innocently wide as he asks, "will you beg for it, torao?"

page 2.

panel 1: luffy starts messily licking up law's neck as law stares at the ceiling, unamused.

panel 2: law replies with a monotone, "pretty please, with a cherry on top." luffy tries to stifle a laugh against law's skin.

panel 3: luffy fails, holding himself over law as he laughs. law has a smile on his face now, proud of himself.

panel 4: luffy laughs openly as law grabs one of cheeks and stretches it. law snorts, "beg for it. the audacity."

page 3.

panel 1: law quirks a brow and sticks his finger into luffy's grinning face, saying, "you have been pushing your luck."

panel 2: luffy bites the finger law is pointing at him, gripping it between his teeth and tongue.

panel 3: law yanks it away, slobbery, with a playful grin of his own.

panel 4: luffy smiles down at him and says, "worth a try."

panel 5: then luffy flops his full weight down onto law, punching air out of him with an oof.

panel 6: luffy's cheek squishes as he lays on law's chest. he looks up, brows drawn and says, "hey. hey, torao." "what?" law asks.

page 4.

panel 1: luffy nuzzles at law's cheek and ear, asking, "can you go again yet?" law looks at the ceiling tiredly, but his hand is still resting on luffy's back.

panel 2: law starts to prop himself up on his elbows. he sighs and says, "yes. let me—"

panel 3: before he cuts off into a loud, "FUCK," as luffy thrusts into him with zero hesitation. law's toes are splayed in shot, which is a crucial detail, because the artist is proud of how they drew the foot.

panel 4: a view from the head of the bed, looking down at where luffy is pulling one of law's legs over his shoulder. law grumbles, "fuckin..."

panel 5: a fade to black, as law continues, "warn me first... ah" as luffy laughs shi shi shi in the background.

i rly love this au concept (im a sucker for forensics…), and i was rly cheering luffy on as she tries her best to seduce permanently-married-to-her-work law ☺️

3 page fancomic for luffy and law from one piece. it takes place in a modern au where law is a coroner and luffy is a forensic entomologist.

page 1.
panel 1: law is at her desk, anxiously waiting as she dials a number and waits for the phone to ring. she grumbles, "come on, come on," casting a glance back at a corpse surrounded by bugs.

panel 2: she's sweating slightly as the person on the other end of the line answers, "hello, you've reached the office of monkey d. forensics."

panel 3: the voice calls to mind the image of an anteater, for some reason. law blandly replies, "this is trafalgar from the coroner's office. is luffy available?"

panel 4: a close-up of law's office phone. the person on the other end asks, "trafalgar???" completely puzzled by the name.

page 2.

panel 1-4: multiple panels of law, her fist balled on her desk. with each passing moment, her frown and blush deepen, until she sighs and tries, "torao?" the other person gasps in instant recognition, "oh! TORAO!"

panel 5: it turns out that it's usopp on the other end. he grins smugly and tells law, "yeah, luffy's AVAILABLE," with extra emphasis on the final word.

panel 6: usopp says, "please hold," before stage-whispering, "psst! it's HER!" to luffy. luffy stands up quickly, grinning brightly with excitement.

panel 7: luffy slams into usopp's desk, grabbing the phone with a loud, "torao!" as usopp flails and falls behind her.

page 3.

panel 1: over the phone, law shouts, "i need you!" luffy's face lights up with shock and a blush. usopp's hand twitches from his place on the floor.

panel 2: an embarrassed law clarifies, "uh. need your help, i mean," as she rubs the back of her neck with a hand.

panel 3: luffy is still grinning as she excitedly asks, "oh, um, what can i do?" usopp flashes her a supportive thumbs-up.

panel 4: law grumbles, "BUGS. i've got a body here crawling with way more than i'm equipped to deal with."

panel 5: the background is completely dark as luffy's face drops into pure frustration and disappointment. she mumbles, "oh." as she realizes law has called for help with work stuff.
