you guys remember those big ominous cubes in the middle of town when we were growing up? what was with that
I've been playing around with the aesthetic of having some Rust Valley characters be 3D (as compared to FMV) and also having them move at a different frame rate than the rest of the environment.

@shenanigansen.bsky.social I was going through GIFs of stuff I made a few days ago and came across this one. I then realized it was very close and I think I've got the day right? Happy bday!

Added an aquarium to the abstract museum because why not. Going for the Windows 95 screensaver vibe.

If anyone ever asks me "hey what's a piece of media that's the exact diametric opposite of your personal interests" it would now be this.

I have never been more proud of the people of my state and city.

At first, my wife and I were worried about living somewhere that might continue to be attacked as a political target.

After seeing how the community responded these past few weeks, we now can't imagine living anywhere else but here.

I'm playing Life is Strange: Double Exposure and noticed this band poster out of the corner of my eye and my brain instantly recalled the reference. Apparently, the Best Buy Y2K reminder sticker is solidified deep in my memory.

Whenever I get around to making promo for my game, I'm gonna slap on the RSAC rating graphic. Not that boring old ESRB nonsense.

things in my game don't have to make sense to anyone, other than me!

I finally found this old clip!
I'm simulating screen tear in my 90's point and click horror game, mainly to replicate the aesthetics of that era.

But also, like, to do other stuff too.

When you come to Rust Valley don't forget to visit the fissure in town that's emitting green gas!
It's a super popular attraction!
And it's free!

I want to start Pathologic 3 but I feel like I can't because I have stuff to do over the next 3 - 4 weeks 😕

OK, I'm a bit late to this but if you like liminal spaces + analog horror + sci fi environments, then you ABSOLUTELY NEED to play ROUTINE.
I have nothing but positive things to say about this game - 10/10.
A beautiful audiovisual horror experience, wrapped neatly in a ~6 hour experience.

While I *am* trying to replicate the tech and game design of 90s point and click adventure games, I've also chosen to let myself include things that may not be period appropriate but look cool.

Like this lens flare!
