As demonstrated in Minneapolis Friday, we clergy and other religious leaders are willing to do what's necessary to stop this. We are the stewards of the sacred and the shepherds of our people. And we sure as heck are not going to stand by while they terrorize kids.

So many Christians seem to have missed who Jesus critized and why. Jesus' longest diatribe (Matthew 23:13-36) was against religious authorities. Jesus' angriest scene, when he flips over tables (Matthew 21:12-13), was in the temple.

Some of the same Christians who sing a popular worship song about the "overwhelming, neverending, reckless love of God" now also talk about empathy as toxic and love for enemies as "weak."
