The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri My rating: 3 of 5 stars Okay let's get into this! I'll keep this spoiler free for the gr feed ❤ I enjoyed how morally grey a lot of the characters were written, and how intense some of these women were! Very female forward story and that did resonate with me. I also liked the political setup, and was super intrigued about how it would all pan out.

I wanted to write up a little mini-review for a such a fun short read. While this wasn't incredibly in depth, the plot was complicated enough to keep my interest. This was overall a very fun read for me!

Spoilers Ahead The Terror by Dan Simmons My rating: 4 of 5 stars This was a wild ass book! So immersive, and the perfect cold weather read. As dry and as dense as it can be, the story captured me and lived in my head rent free. While the writing style is not my favorite, the story was captivating and addicting.

Children of Fallen Gods by Carissa Broadbent My rating: 5 of 5 stars Okay I feel like procrastinating at work and I have wanted to come back to add my review after letting it marinate a bit Clearly I have zero threshold for cliff-hangers because the way I sprinted into the next & final book was comical 😀 WOW This book really took me by surprise.

Spoilers Ahead Borne by Jeff VanderMeer My rating: 3 of 5 stars This wound up being super ambiguous, and one of those books I needed to sit down and think about to process the end. I have a lot of questions about the end, and the big moments really hit! So was it an alternate reality or another world??? And poor Rachel, with the memories and what not.

Spoilers Ahead Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire My rating: 4 of 5 stars I am so happy I reread this after so many years; I had thought of the book often but going to see Wicked in theaters really pushed me to read it again. I really forgot how beautifully written the conflict of where does evil come from, and the whole age-old discussion of evil vs good and what is evil really?

Spoilers Ahead House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas My rating: 3 of 5 stars Alright I had to sit with this one a bit! First I must say it feels so fucking weird to not have any more SJM books to read. Second, to all the folks who have been reading these books as they’ve been published, I applaud you all for how long you’ve had to wait knowing everything we now know ♥️

Spoilers Ahead House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas My rating: 2 of 5 stars Okay I have a lot of thoughts so buckle in! I wanted to like this book more than I did, but the last ten or so chapters helped bring this to a solid 2 ⭐️ for me What I liked: Basically the whole ending and the crossover, as well as some select characters (I’m begging for more Ariadnae 😭).
