Putting masked federal officers in unmarked vehicles and National Guard troops in uniforms carrying military weapons in streets of a city that doesn't want them is political violence.

Dr. Kennedy:

I have just had the Covid vaccine. Your restrictions failed to save me from my decision. Feeling fine so far, but if I die for any reason in the next 18 months, please avenge my death by infecting five children with measles or whooping cough.

thanks

Leavitt is bearing false witness against her neighbors. False witness isn't just lying, it's actively harming the person Jesus said you must love as you love yourself. Lying erodes the creed, but bitter violence against a neighbor repudiates it. If this is a Christian nation, they are not citizens.

Bill Clinton could step up to a microphone and admit to everything and accept whatever comes. It would suck for him but we already know most of it. In the process he'd sink Donald Trump. Clinton also avoided service in Vietnam, so maybe it's tmie to put it on the line for us.

Rumor is the Texas National Guard is being sent to Chicago to fight crime in time for Mexican Independence Day weekend. What, confiscating flags, shutting down soccer matches, conducting car safety inspections? If the Guard comes here, who are they serving? Because it ain't us and that ain't crime.

Time to rewatch ‘The Death of Stalin.’

EPA defends the environment so it attacks polluters.
Justice attacks crime so it targets criminals.
Labor attacks bad working conditions so it attack rotten employers.
Weaponization suggests this is a new function. It’s not. What’s new is the corruption of killing an agency just to help friends.

Claiming weaponization of government agencies is propaganda. Agencies are weapons. Bitching about weaponization is just dodging accountability. They can’t say, ‘let me off the hook’ so they say ‘hooks are bad’ and ‘they hooked people so they are bad.’ Don’t let them.

Louisiana has a Republican senator, John Kennedy, who yesterday called NYC a crime-ridden hellhole (paraphrase)
NYC: tough gun laws
Louisiana has almost no gun laws
NYC 8.5 million people
Louisiana 4.8 million people.
NYC 2024: 99 murders.
Louisiana (entire state) 2024: 862 murders

The weather satellite thing is part of a long running plan to capture forecasting equipment built and operated by the US. Weatherdotcom and the others’ entire data stream comes from public resources. Now the men profiting from that want to prevent others from using it. Ballsy play but hey why not?

To put a reactor on the moon you have to lift nuclear fuel out of Earth’s gravity well. In rockets, which are a kind of bomb that sometimes flies as intended.

The Justice Department is an asset. We own it. Like interstate highways and cool shit at NASA and the army and airspace and Acadia National Park, it's ours. We paid for it. It's like a dishwasher or a nice fly rod--it functions, and it's ours. Trump is stealing it for himself and denying it to us.

We're in the 'a lot of hard work for uncertain returns' phase of saving the Republic. Not all of our elected representatives are up for that. The Trump Administration knows it. They may be establishing a permanent autocracy, but their main tool is indifferent persistence. We need to dump the lazy.

They've repeated it so much that now 'discrimination against conservatives' is just background hum. Let's not forget that this isn't real, it doesn't exist, it's a lie. Such discrimination was alleged many times but never proved. Don't let them sneak the question into the premise of the argument.

Whenever I start thinking nostalgiacally of the W years, I just replay the video of the Brooks Brothers Riot and I'm set for another couple months.

no no no. They produce several valuable things. They produce

--pain and suffering in their perceived enemies
--which produces a warm squirmy feeling in their lower stomach area
--and which produces amusing outrage among normal people
--which can be monetized into power and money from their base.

We have the perfect lesson for how to deal with this, but nobody wants to do it. Just focus on the south end of the Edmund Pettis Bridge. They people with bloody heads were making progress. We must elect people who will get a bloody head--figurative or literal--when it's necessary.

The 'Washington administrative state' in the Ag Dept. (or any other agency) is an asset that belongs to the people of the US. It's ours. We built it and paid for it. If it needs repair or improvement, consult us. Those people serve Americans. If you break it, you are taking something from all of us.

About time to reread this piece, which describes the journey to sanity that we must make when faced with the worst of the Internet. Soon after, Gawker was murdered with a frivolous libel suit by a vengeful right-wing tech mogul, a major donor to Donald Trump.
