This was the album that started me listening to heavier music, although I had no idea it was death metal.
I was on holiday in Greece at the start of the 90s and found a tape shop. I saw the Warhammer 40K cover and picked it up and was immediately obsessed

Listening to Hetsheads - We Hail The Possessed from 1994, a collection of their demos/promos from 1991. A mix of fast-paced songs and some slower sludgy/doom type tracks. Production is what you would expect from demo tapes and makes for some nostalgic listening, I was poised to flip the tape over.

Listening to Those Who Bring The Torture's self-titled debut album from 2011 because there isn't enough Rogga Johansson music in my life. This is the darkest music I've heard from him. More Florida death metal akin to Cannibal Corpse vocally and lyrically.

Listening to Paganizer - Scandinavian Warmachine (2008). More crunchy, honest to goodness, Swedish death metal from Rogga Johansson and co. My only negative about this album is the cover which looks like early 21st-century computer technology rather than the usual brutal artwork of Paganizer covers.

Listening to Cryptorium - Descent Into Lunacy (2024). Blistering death metal for fans of Entombed and Dismember. This is old-school Stockholm buzzsaw death metal with guttural vocals. Nice mix of straight ahead death and more atmospheric.
