Hey! Free game! CDS did some art for Orange Juice 100% in the past and now you can get the game for free. Two more days to get a free game!
There was a bit of a setup issue, but to clarify, 100% Orange Juice is FREE TO KEEP this weekend!

Might as well share some older concept art that WaHa did. These drafts were done for a client that folded before we finished the project. So... we never got paid for these work. Pain.
Supposed to be a fantastic take on school-themed combat. Looking back, these sure was a product of its time.

Ah. This. It gets more and more common to see clients handing us slop as references. Sometimes, I throw them out so that the artists can work without the influence. But other times, I can't. That initial slop is so ingrained in the client's mind that we have to 'recreate' that somehow.
I'll also add this very much falls in line with and exacerbates an issue the industry constantly runs against of executives and upper management being unable to work with and take rough cuts, constantly demanding more and more "finished" looking pieces early in the process, to the detriment of it

Not forgiving the use of GenAI slop in the game dev process though. Do better!

It's really quite sad to learn about formerly respectable studios accepting the use of slop in their workflow (without tangible results too!) Surely there's plenty of artists lining up to work for them.
Here in CDS, we are pro-humans.
