Well, we kinda also did this with internet security over the web. I remember in the 90's everybody telling me how unsafe it was to share information over the web, but by like 2005 everybody stopped giving a shit, and ten years later our power grids are being hacked.

They're right that it is going somewhere. But they have no fucking idea where it's going just like the rest of us. But it's cowardice to constantly hedge against your own beliefs and knowledge based on fear that you might be wrong. If you think they're full of shit, just come out and say it.

Yeah. the problem in the US is that our politicians have figured out a way to weaponize education and ensure that their constituents remain undereducated.

It's pretty obvious that we reached that point a while ago. And it dismays me that so many otherwise seemingly reasonable people have take so long to get there.

yeah. the world is a messy place. I happen to think things are bit more nuanced than 'the world was a perfect utopia of lollipops and candy canes 'til those mean ole americans showed up.' But if that's how you want to see the world then fine. Good luck.

Was it right for the US to invade Iraq? No. No, it was not. It was immoral and wrong what the US did. But what Russia did in places like Grozny, for example, was way worse than what the US did in Baghdad. I'm sorry the world is not as black and white as you seem to want it to be.

No. for the obvious reasons that russia as a matter of policy has terroristically killed far more of its own citizens as well as foreigners. that should be clear to you.

for the most part Yes. The United States is more moral than Russia when it comes to invasions and use of military force. You are correct in this statement.

I understand that there is real value in getting this kind of information out to the general public, but my problem with this is that it also seems to serve as a genre of entertainment, and I'm afraid the entertainment can become addictive.
