Bees 🐝
This art features 100 bees of various colors and shapes. These bees are designed in a cartoonish style, based on real species. The common name or species is written below the animals. Some bees are moving leaves, scraping plant hair, or sticking out their tongues. Some male bees have hairy faces and unusually shaped legs. There are also baby bees that have just hatched from their petal nests. Cute and colorful atmosphere. There are over 20,000 species of bees, so I only depicted a very small fraction of them!

Every time I share my porcelain crab linocut, someone sends me this WWII bomber image to exemplify survivorship bias.

My lino block print in black and red ink on white Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper of a porcelain crab, Neopetrolisthes maculatus. The crab is white with red polka dots on a black background. Loosely based on data from an unillustrated report by Abraham Wald (1943), showing that a similar plane survived a single hit to the engine 60% of the time, but a hit to the fuselage or fuel system closer to 95% of the time. Picture is based on US Air Force "hit plots", such as this F-4 hit plot published in 1991. New version by McGeddon based on a Lockheed PV-1 Ventura drawing (2016), vector file by Martin Grandjean (2021). Via Wikipedia. A lovely native wasp seen in our Perth Hills garden. One of the solitary Potter wasps from the genus Paralastor as far as I can tell, she was drinking from a bird bath. These wasps often stock their nests with paralysed caterpillars.
