Oh snap! My book reached the number 1 spot in it's category last night! I got tears of joy in my eyes. I know it's not like being on the bigger best selling lists, but I'm celebrating this small step. I'm a nobody from nowhere and I'm happy my book went somewhere! #books #author

I was given some tips on setting up a professional author's page. Things started to sound muffled after I heard about the need to get a $5,000 dollar picture of me taken so it can be featured on said page.
All I could think was. "It must be nice to sell that many books."

Finally reached 90,000 words today on the manuscript. I'm exited about this story and hope people will enjoy reading it. I still have about five more chapters left to write before the first draft is finished.

I spent half a day creating a new creature for a chapter I'm working on. I excitedly tell a coworker about it today and they reply that it sounds like a creature from a movie I haven't seen yet. I'm not sure if I should go back to the drawing board, or leave it alone.

I feel lame admitting this, but I don't want my main characters to die. Be in danger - sure, on the brink of death - sure.
I don't give them insanely obvious plot armor either. For example, my first MC got shot and almost died. His actions and technology saved him.
