It's far from mission accomplished but if nothing else comes of this fortunate Bluesky wave, it should be considered proved that it's *possible* to challenge the incumbent social apps with open alternatives.

this is undoubtedly the better place. The _other_ place's decline seems to have sped up dramatically over the last few weeks, like it was bad before but now it's an intolerable hate-filled cess pool
