An enormous number of grants are not getting reviewed. Every day that goes by is another lab that might lose critical funding. Totally unacceptable.

We're on day 5 (approx) of the NIH new grant freeze.
NIH Study sections that will likely "not meet as scheduled" today: BMBI, MRAD, MSFA, NDPR, POMD, SMEP, ZRG1  IIDB-F, ZRG1  SCIL-G. Will mark them down once the CSR page updates!
Wondering if your study section cancelled? I update this sheet daily. As of today, 56/124 study sections that should have met since Jan 2, 2025 have "not met as scheduled." docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

All true - whilst the potential loss of these academic jobs is bad, the loss of STEM jobs is no worse than losing others; STEM might provide us with the discoveries that extend lives, but humanities/culture make those lives worth living.
