Today, my staff and I visited 7 Fire and EMS stations around District 6 and beyond and passed out treats for everyone to enjoy.

Emergencies don't stop for holidays, and these first responders are spending time away from their families to serve all of us. We really appreciate everything they do!

The Williamson County Child Advocacy Center serves children and families from the Wilco portion of Austin in District 6. Their services are critical to solving crimes against children and they provide ongoing mental health services to children and their families.

I had the pleasure of attending an art opening at the Asian American Resource Center featuring Diaspora Offering by Sun-Jue Shin & Allen Yu & Ancestral Visions by Sandeep Chandran.

Saturday, I joined the Bull Creek Foundation, Friends of Springwoods Park, and Austin Parks and Recreation for It's My Park Day! I was happy to help beautify our public spaces so we can all enjoy the gifts of nature. It was a beautiful day for working together.

Yesterday, I joined volunteers at the 2025 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project with Austin Habitat for Humanity in the Whisper Valley community. This is the first year that this project has happened in Texas!

I was so proud to present a proclamation honoring Mama Duke, a trailblazing Austin and District 6 artist and finalist on America's Got Talent!
Mama Duke earned Mel B’s Golden Buzzer, became the first female rapper to make it to the Top 10, and performs on Austin’s biggest stages!

Many in District 6 lost power during Winter Storm Uri. As we face more extreme weather, Austin Energy is developing a Resiliency Plan to strengthen our local grid, reduce outages, restore power faster, and better prepare for future storms.

In August, Council adopted a budget that aligns with the City’s fiscal reserve policy, maintains the City’s AAA credit rating, & continues funding for essential services that reflect community input. At the proposed rate, the budget preserves current service levels & prepares for future needs.
