In the afternoon we visited the National Trust properties in Baddesley Clinton and Packwood. The collections and House Manager Emily Greaves and her colleague Megan (overseeing the volunteers) introduced us to the National Trust and Emily gave as a private tour of Packwood House. We felt privileged.

Yesterday morning, the students had to listen to my talk on transitions of power in Lviv during WWII (a joint hybrid event with the Summer School of the Mykolai Haievoi Centre of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv).

On Monday and Tuesday, the students had sessions on Human Rights with Charles Walton (History), a playwriting workshop with Silvija Jestrović (Theatre and Performance Studies), and visited with Roberta Bivins (History) our Modern Record Centre and worked with sources about migration.

On Monday, the third Warwick Summer School with students from the Ukrainian Catholic University began. This time we have 19 Humanities‘ students from Lviv.

Ukrainian history does not come easy to UK students. Today, I used Daniel Ursprung‘s excellent map about the historical regions of Ukraine (daniel-ursprung.ch/erinnerungsl...) to enlighten them. I hope I did not confuse them even more. A-level Russian history did not really prepare them for that.

The second Warwick Summer School with 20 students from the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv has begun. The students were warmly welcomed by Marta Guerriero (Arts Faculty) Maureen O’Sullivan (Wellbeing), Alex Breeze (English Department), the History Department, and Deacon David Palmer
