Last week we were out with DYW LED at @cofgcollege.bsky.social and New College Motherwell for their STEM Festival events with S2-3s from North Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire, exploring how archaeologists reconstruct foodways, identity and Roman - Indigenous relations in Iron Age Scotland.

We’re out at New College Motherwell today for #DYW Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire’s STEM fest.

Students from local high schools in Motherwell, Bellshill and Wishaw will have the chance to explore how archaeologists reconstruct past lives and diets, and contribute their Q’s to #CVARF

You can check out this new article from our engagement officer @eddiecstewart.bsky.social (open source) here!

While the article is based in Highland archaeology the arguments are relevant to many landscapes within the Clyde region at the forefront of our responses to climate change…
I’m happy to say this article on my PhD research, exploring and challenging conceptions of wildness in Scottish Highland landscapes is out (and open access) now in @scottishhistreview.bsky.social.

It was great to attend the celebrations for 10 years of the Glasgow #DYW and hear all about the amazing opportunities delivered by partners across the city. We worked with some great young people through the DYW in Glasgow’s East End and Southside to record what their local archaeology meant to them

Arbory Hill Fort, in South Lanarkshire, is one of the higher forts in Scotland. The inner stone-walled rampart has been inserted into the earlier bi-vallate fort, and the outer ramparts contain at least five entrances. #HillfortsWednesday
